He obtained his MD and PhD from Kumamoto University in Japan and did further clinical training in the United Kingdom where he became associate fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Being Rhinologist with special interest in airways allergy, he performed his Allergology fellowship at Bordeaux II University in Bordeaux-France. Professor El-Shazly research interest includes immune-molecular events in upper airway inflammation in which he has authored many international peer review publications as well as a specialized book in allergy and clinical immunology of Otolaryngology. He is a member of several international scientific societies. He is section editor and a member of the editorial board of some international medical journals.
