Malini Olivo is Distinguished A*STAR Fellow and Distinguished Principal Scientist of A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*SRL) where she leads the Translational Biophotonics Laboratory. Concurrently, she is also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, National University Health System, NUS, Singapore, LKC School of Medicine NTU, Singapore and Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, Dublin, Ireland. Her current research interest is in Biophotonics, nano-biophotonics and its applications in translational clinical medicine. Her efforts include bridging the gap between cutting edge optical technologies and unmet clinical needs by developing photonics-based devices for various unmet needs in medicine. For more than 25 years, Prof Malini has been pioneering bio-photonics and analytical-based point-of-care technologies and wearable technology for clinical applications across oncology, skin, cardio-respiratory & womens health. She has led 5 First-in-human clinical studies using innovation in biophotonics technologies to improve healthcare outcomes in skin cancer, breast cancer and skin inflammatory disease such as eczema and psoriasis.

Robert Bob Brumley is the Senior Managing Director at Marble Arch Partners, LLC. He currently serves as Chairman and CEO of the Laser Light Companies. He was CEO of TerreStar Corporation (formerly Motient Corp.) from 2006 to 2008, and CEO of TerreStar Global and TerreStar Networks Inc., from 2005 to 2008. He led these firms into the emerging field of hybrid mobile satellite and terrestrial communications, raising over $1B in private investment. He is a former senior executive with Deutsche Telekom and Bell Atlantic International [now Verizon]. He was appointed by President Reagan as Chief Legal Officer of the Department of Commerce and Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce and chaired the Reagan Administration policy working group that privatized commercial space transportation.

Dr. Alex Kazemi a world recognized Micro Technologist, and materials scientist is focusing on development of fiber optics, miniaturized fiber components, fiber optic sensors, and micro/nano technology of laser components for aviation, aerospace and space applications. He is developer of the lightest fiber optic cable in aviation history, World 1st fiber optic sensor for rocket engine, U.S. 1st fiber optic delivery system for micro welding of laser chips, and leading-edge technologies. He is The Boeing Company Fiber Optic Architect, Associate Technical Fellow, and worked for 25 years for Boeing as well as 10 years for telecom, lasers, sensors and MEMS industries. He also taught physics and materials science for several years at University of Southern California.

Baojun Li received the Ph.D. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an China, in 1998. He worked with Fudan University, Shanghai, China, as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 1998 to 2000. After that, he worked with the Singapore-MIT Alliance and National University of Singapore from 2000 to 2002, first at a Postdoctoral Fellow and then as a Research Fellow. From April to October 2002, he worked as a Research Fellow with the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore. He joined the Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China, as a Full Professor in 2002, and served as the Director of the Research Laboratory for Optoelectronic Integration and Lasers in the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies.

Dr. Ella Faktorovich founded Pacific Vision Institute in 1998. Her commitment to advancing refractive options for patients has led her to be considered one of the world's leading ophthalmologists. She is one of the first surgeons in San Francisco to have performed LASIK vision correction, and is also first surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area certified by the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance. To date she has performed tens of thousands of procedures. Dr. Faktorovich has made significant contributions to the refractive surgery field by completing award-winning research on corneal healing following laser vision correction. In addition to publishing numerous articles, abstracts and book chapters on corneal transplantation and laser and refractive surgery, she has been invited to lecture extensively both in the United States and abroad. She is the founder and remains the Chair of the San Francisco Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery Symposium, which is currently in its 16th year and brings together the leaders in corneal and lens surgery. She is highly respected in her field and has taught numerous LASIK procedures as well as other advanced laser and refractive surgery methods to her peers. She has received numerous awards and honors for her dedication and innovation in the field. Dr. Ella G. Faktorovich is listed as Top Doctor in Ophthalmology & Eye Surgery and has been selected to the "America's Best Physicians" registry for 2022! Dr. Faktorovich published a definitive textbook on the uses of femtosecond laser technology in corneal surgery, "Femtodynamics: A Guide to Laser Settings and Procedure Techniques to Optimize Outcomes with Femtosecond Lasers." She is listed in the Best Doctors in America and in the Top 100 Health Professionals in the World. Under her leadership, Pacific Vision Institute invests in the most state-of-the-art technology of any refractive surgery practice in San Francisco.

Prof. Dr. Angela Amphawan received her PhD in optical communications from University of Oxford, UK. She then won the Fulbright Award to work on optical devices and networks at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. She currently leads the Photonics Laboratory at Sunway University. Before joining Sunway University, she was Deputy Vice Chancellor of University Malaysia and Dean of Academic Affairs of University of Computer Science & Engineering. Prior to that, she was Director of the Optical Technology Research Laboratory at Universiti Utara Malaysia. She has also lectured at Multimedia University and served as Computing Officer at University of Oxford, UK. She is currently on the National 5G Task Force for development of 5G infrastructure. She also serves on the IEEE Joint Sensor and Nanotechnology Councils. In addition, she is on the Editorial Board of the APL Photonics Journal under the American Institute of Physics and several other international journals. In addition, she has served as Co-Chair, Technical Program Committee and International Scientific Committee for numerous international conferences. She has given keynote addresses at several Fulbright and IEEE events. She has won the International Academic Award by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, several Excellent Service Awards, Teaching Awards, Best Paper Awards and exhibition medals. She is also a recipient of the distinguished Telekom Malaysia scholarship. Her research has been funded by the Fulbright Foundation, Telekom Malaysia and Ministry of Higher Education

Dr. Aggarwal has been selected to receive the 2011 David Richardson Medal from the Optical Society of America (OSA) Dr. Aggarwal has recently been appointed as a Research Professor in the Department of Physics and Optical Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. At UNC Charlotte his efforts will be focused on the development of novel optical wave-guide and fiber devices for passive and active mid-IR applications. Dr. Aggarwal recently retired as Head of the Optical Materials and Devices Branch at NRL after 25 years of government service. Previously he worked at several companies including Corning and Lasertron Inc. He was a senior scientist at Corning responsible for glass and fiber research and development and did some of the pioneering work in the beginning days of fiber-optics development in the 1970’s. At Lasertron he worked as a Vice President responsible for development and engineering operations of semiconductor Lasers and corresponding Electronic Devices. Dr. Aggarwal received his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Catholic University of America. Dr. Aggarwal together with his team at Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) pioneered the development, applications and commercialization of infrared (IR) transmitting optical materials; (i) low loss IR transmitting glass optical fibers and (ii) rugged transparent ceramic spinel windows. He directed the research programs to solve the various technical and engineering issues and successfully transitioned the enabling technologies, along with 17 patents, to the industrial sector. These materials are now commercially available and are improving the performance of existing applications as well as enabling new applications which were not previously possible.

Dr. Khaled Habib holds a Ph.D in Chem. and Mats. Engr. from the Optical Science and Technological Center of University of Iowa, Iowa, USA, 1988. He was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Chem. Engr. Dept., and Mat. sci. Dept., of the Technical University of Aachen, Aachen, Germany, 1991-1992. He specializes in “Quantum Electrochemistry” and more specifically “Opto-electrochemical instruments” in which solely light (as a quantum tool) can be used not only for submicroscopic imaging of surface/interface phenomena of solids in electrolytes, but also, it can be used in situ to measure electrochemical parameters corresponding to the surface/interface phenomena of the solids. Also, Materials Science, Metallic corrosion, and Characterization of nanometer structures of metallic glasses are of interest. Mr. Habib has in his credit more than 126 articles in international refereed journals in his area of specialization. He is a fellow of the SPIE (http://spie.org/x38.xml).

Dr. Weitao Li earned PhD degree from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). He is a Professor in Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Li worked as a visiting scholar in the Optical Imaging Lab at Washington University in St. Louis and the Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and Nanomedicine (LOMIN), National Institutes of Health (NIH). He is the director of Jiangsu Society of Biomedical Engineering of China, General Secretary of Jiangsu Biophoton Special Committee of China, and Member of the Youth Committee of Medical Physics Branch of Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering. His research interests are the development of biomedical imaging and detecting techniques, biosignal processing method, and nanotechnologies for early diagnosis of diseases. He has obtained several research funding, including National Science Foundation of China, National Project for Research and Development of Scientific Research Instruments, and The Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province. He has published more than 40 papers, granted 6 patents, and obtained the Third Prize of Natural Science and Technology of Jiangsu.

Stelios Choulis is Professor of Material Science and Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), the Founder and Head of the Molecular Electronics and Photonics Research Unit (http://www.cut.ac.cy/mep) at CUT (Cyprus, 2008- Present). He was the device research and development (R&D) group leader of Konarka Technologies (Germany, 2006-2008) under Dr C. J. Brabec and R & D Engineer of the Osram Opto-Semiconductors Inc, Organic Light Emitting Diode team at Silicon Valley (USA, 2004-2006) under Dr Franky So. During his Ph.D. (Supervised by Prof. Jeff Hosea) and first Postdoctoral Research Associate position (Prof Ben Murdin research group) at Advanced Technology Institute (1999-2002, University of Surrey, UK) funded both by the EPSRC, he investigated the optical properties of quantum opto-electronic materials. In 2002 he joined Prof. D.D.C Bradley and Prof. Jenny Nelson at the center of electronic materials and devices (Imperial College London, UK) as Postdoctoral Research Associate funded by British Petrol (BP), and work on organic photovoltaics (2002-2004).

Dr. Amjad Ali Amjad received his B.S. degree (Hons.) in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2014, his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lahore, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2017, and his PhD from Zhejiang University in 2021. He recently completed his first postdoctoral research at the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering at Peking University. He is currently engaged in his second postdoctoral research at the Donghai Laboratory in collaboration with Zhejiang University. His research interests include wireless optical communications, underwater wireless optical communication, solid-state lighting, and visible light communication. He has co-authored one book chapter and several papers on these subjects, published in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
