Ralph M. Kennel received his Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1984. From 1983 to 1999 he worked for Robert BOSCH GmbH (Germany). From 1999 to 2008 he was Professor for Electrical Machines and Drives at Wuppertal University (Germany). Since 2008 he has been Professor for Electrical Drive Systems and Power Electronics at Technische Universitaet Muenchen (Germany). Dr. Kennel is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of IET (former IEE) and a Chartered Engineer in the UK. Within IEEE he is Treasurer of the Germany Section. Jeff Pieper is the incoming Chair of the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. He is also a member of the APEGA Discipline Committee, involved with deciding and enforcing malpractice decisions for Professional Engineers in Alberta. Jes Donneborg is Senior Vice President at Aalborg CSP. Mr. Donneborg is responsible for the company’s sales activities in both Germany and Austria, where his main objective is to push for the implementation of solar-thermal systems, heat pumps plants and Pit Thermal Energy Storage (PTES) projects. Mr. Donneborg joined Aalborg CSP in 2015 and has since then taken part in the development of various solar-thermal and heat pump installations. Agricultural Engineer and Master in Horticulture from the University of Talca, Chile and PhD in Horticulture & Agronomy from the University of California Davis, USA. Since 2005, Karla has worked as a Head of the National Rice Breeding Program at the Agricultural Research Institute of Chile. Since 2022, she also works as INIA's National Food Safety Coordinator. Her lines of research focus on the genetic and molecular characterization of abiotic stresses that limits rice production. The increase in tolerance to cold, the study of the phenological development cycle of rice and the efficient use of water are the problems that are currently addressed through different grants such as FONTAGRO 2019-2024 (Chile, Argentina, Panamá and Venezuela), FIA 2020-2023, FIC Maule 2020-2024, Neslté (2022-2025), among others. Karla has released 5 varieties of rice to the market, Zafiro INIA, Cuarzo INIA, Esmeralda INIA, Jaspe FL-INIA (first short cycle variety that allows the cultivation of rice with 50% less water), and Ónix INIA (first Chilean black rice variety). Currently, Zafiro INIA is the most planted variety in the Chilean rice sector, occupying 70% of the surface. Also, Karla has led the development of a new rice production system, adapting principles of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) to Latin American paddy rice fields and integrating new rice varieties. The Climate Smart Rice System (CSRS), is based on low seeding density (less than 70 kg/ha), drill seeding (30 cm between rows), mixed weed control (lower herbicide use combined with mechanical control), soil aeration and intermittent irrigation during the complete rice life cycle to avoid flooding and GHG emissions. Dr. Shanke Liu is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Sir Ruggero M. Santilli obtained his Ph. Emil Roduner is a former Chair of Physical Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and since his retirement a part-time professor at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He wrote an advanced textbook on Nanoscopic Materials: Size-Dependent Phenomena (2006/2014), and together with three coauthors one on Optical Spectroscopy – Fundamentals and Advanced Applications (2018). His broad research interests include studies on structure, size-effects, and mechanisms of elementary steps in catalysis. Professor Markus Roth is a distinguished professor of physics at the Institut für Kernphysik, TU-Darmstadt since 2003. Dr. Chen-Kuei Chung received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees of Materials from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 1989 and 1994. From 1994 to 2002, he worked in Industrial Technology Research Institute for further technology research and development including the process development and integration of MEMS technologies & key components such as inkjet printhead, IR sensor array and biochip. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University (ME/NCKU) in August, 2002 and works till now. He has his expertise in micro-nano material science and engineering, and fabrication, characterization and process integration of MEMS/NEMS devices for sensor, actuator and LIGA application, especially in the advanced hybrid pulse anodization, characterization, SERS and application; laser processing, polymer molding and application; mechanical energy harvesting from unique microneedles-triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) .

Prof. Yang Xiaojun graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA) with a PhD degree in Engineering Thermophysics (2002-2007). He is the Vice President/Professor of the Institute of Aviation Environment and Sustainable Development (IASD) of Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC), an expert of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), an expert of the SAE Committee on the Testing of Aeroengine Gaseous Discharge and Particle Emissions, an expert of the Research Centre of Environment and Sustainable Development (Think Tank) of CAUC. Dr Stuart So is a faculty member at the University of Exeter Business School and the Programme Director for BSc Business Analytics and MSc Business Analytics. His research includes clean energy, sustainability and climate change mitigation on the Operations Management (OM) side, and sentiment analysis and sustainability modelling underpinned by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and environmental analytics on the Data Science side. Stuart received his doctorate from Macquarie University and completed his fellowship at the City University of Hong Kong. Stuart has published over 50 research articles in major peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He received two best paper awards and a research acknowledgement prize from the IEEE Conference, ANZAM Conference, and the University of Melbourne respectively. Dr. Yao Lixia completed her PhD at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Dalian Maritime University in China, and a Master’s degree from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium. She has done research on the quantitative measurement of energy security, the impacts of China’s macroeconomic reforms on its energy sector, and the energy security and energy policies of Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. Her current research focuses on China’s Belt and Road Initiative, China’s energy security and energy policies, ASEAN’s energy sector, and ASEAN’s decarbonization strategies.

Professor Ganguli received his PhD from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. He has more than eight years of experience in the chemical industry and has worked across the breadth of the domain, with projects spanning computational fluid dynamics of multiphase flows, process modelling, process equipment design and optimisation, plant support for extractive systems and some commodity chemical processes. He has received a number of laurels for his work, including the Abhaynkar Award in ICT, Mumbai and the Patent Award in the Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). He has about 18 international publications in such journals as Chemical Engineering Science, Chemical Engineering Research and Design, American Insitute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and Physics of Fluids. He has already amassed 250 citations to his publications. He is also a member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and American Chemical Society. He began his career as a post-doctoral researcher with the University of Paderborn, Germany. There, he worked on model development for mass transfer across interfaces and droplet coalescence. Subsequently, he joined the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland, Technoforce Solutions, Mumbai and SABIC R&D, Bangalore before joining Ahmedabad University. At Technoforce Solutions Ltd he worked in optimizing process equipment using computational fluid dynamics: for instance, in impeller designs for pumps, optimization of liquid-liquid extractors etc. At SABIC (a petrochemical giant) Professor Ganguli was part of a team for developing integrated process models, kinetic models and separation column models for existing processes like isomerization, dehydrogenation and etherification; as well as providing plant support.

Arbel Yaniv is a PhD candidate from the School of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, Israel. Her research focuses on algorithms and applied machine-learning for power and energy applications, including power system optimal operation and optimal energy management in microgrids, via optimal control of the various grid assets including legacy assets, edge devices, PV-plus-storage, EVs, and load consumption.

Enio Pontes is a full professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in Brazil. He holds a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of São Paulo and Technische Universität Braunschweig in Germany. Pontes has been a visiting professor at QUT in Australia and ENS/LMT in Cachan, France. Currently, Professor Pontes works as a professor and researcher in the Graduate Program in Engineering and Materials Science at UFC. He is the Head of the Laboratory for Failure Analysis (LAMEFF) at UFC. His research focuses on advanced characterization of chitosan, nanocellulose, and graphene oxide membranes for green hydrogen PEM electrolyzers, utilizing artificial intelligence techniques for optimization. Dr. Pontes' work aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of PEM electrolyzers by analyzing and optimizing the structural and functional properties of these membranes. With a background in materials engineering and a leadership role in failure analysis, he brings a wealth of expertise to the field of sustainable energy technologies. Pontes is actively involved in the field of Renewable Energies. He is the coordinator of the Thematic Meeting on renewable energy at the National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation in Fortaleza. He also organizes the International Conference on Renewable Energy Technologies (CITER) in Piauí. Additionally, Pontes is a member of the Advisory Board of FINEP (the Brazilian Innovation Agency) and holds the position of Science and Technology director at PROIFES (the Brazilian Federation of University Professors)

In his official role, He has supported the successful deliverance of several policies and plans of the Government of Pakistan for the energy sector including his lead role in developing the SDG7 road map in collaboration with UN-ESCAP. He also supported the completion of multi-billion dollars’ renewable and conventional energy projects, formulation, and implementation of various strategies, negotiations of concession agreements for IPPs, upfront tariffs for multiple generation technologies, ongoing energy sector’ reforms and electricity market development contributing to sustainable socio-economic development of the country. He has also participated in several community development initiatives purely in a volunteer capacity.

Wolfgang Theobald is a Senior Scientist at Focused Energy GmbH in Darmstadt, Germany, and an Associate Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester, USA. Wolfgang is responsible for co-leading the Science Team at Focused Energy. The team develops a target point design for a fusion pilot plant using the approach of laser direct-drive inertial confinement fusion and performs experiments to investigate the mitigation of laser-plasma instabilities and the optimization of proton production and focusing with short-pulse high intensity lasers. Before joining Focused Energy, Wolfgang was a Senior Scientist and Group Leader of the OMEGA Experiments Group at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics of the University of Rochester. The OMEGA Experiments Group is responsible for conducting direct-drive implosion experiments on the OMEGA laser with cryogenically layered deuterium–tritium targets and direct-drive implosion experiments on the NIF. Dr. Theobald’s interests include the development of target implosion diagnostics for X-rays, neutrons, and particles to study multidimensional effects in the hot-spot formation and inertial fusion energy reactor designs. Dr. Theobald served as Principal Investigator for many direct-drive experiments on the OMEGA and NIF lasers including the exploration of the shock-ignition and fast ignition concepts. Dr. Theobald received a fellowship of the American Physical Society in 2018 and the Lev D. Landau and Lyman Spitzer Jr. Award for outstanding contributions to plasma physics in 2020. He graduated from the Johannes-Gutenberg-University of Mainz, Germany, in 1991 with a Diploma in Physics, received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the Georg-August-University, Göttingen, Germany in 1994, and received his habilitation in Experimental Physics in 2001 in the department of Physics and Astronomy at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Germany.

Tiago Miguel is a PhD student in Economic and Business Sciences at the University of Aveiro. In 2023, he completed his master’s degree in Finance, also at the University of Aveiro. He graduated in Business Management (2021) from the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, Portugal. He was a tutor in the financial calculus and operational research courses, during his degree, having taught them as a guest assistant in 2024, at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu.
