Giulio Teodoro Maellaro was born in Brindisi (Italy) in 1955. He graduated in mechanical engineering from the University of Padua (Italy). He was an officer in the technical services corps of the italian army in the motorization sector. He taught thermotechnics and heating systems in industrial technical institutes. At the “Carnaro” Nautical Institute in Brindisi he taught marine machinery, on-board technical systems and mechanical technology. Expert in sustainable energy and energy transformations. Freelance designer engineer in the construction, plant engineering and energy saving fields. Convinced advocate of the need to immediately implement the energy transition. He created the SEWAT (Sustainable Energy by Waves Trap) device to obtain sustainable energy from sea waves.

Peer is the Founder and Research Director of the Sustainable Solutions Hub. He has over 30 years’ experience in R&D as Lead Scientist and Professor at the University of Queensland and Shanxi Agricultural University. His work led to five start-up companies, seven patents and >250 scientific papers that are highly cited (h-index 79). Peer’s expertise lies in Plant Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering and Regenerative Agriculture, and he developed the areas of Large-Scale Algae Cultivation and Plant Microbiome Engineering in Australia. Tech, U, Poland, 1965), is a Research Prof. at Mechanical Eng., Clarkson U, Potsdam NY, RD Manager of DFIE, Inc., Honorary Member of Building Enclosure Technology and Environment (BETEC) Committee of the National Institute of Building Science (NIBS) in Washington, DC. He worked at National Research Council of Canada (1975-2000) and was an Editor-in-Chief of J. Building Physics (1984-2018) He lives in Canada but works in the US and Europe. He was teaching in, the US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Poland and China. He is a Guest Editor in Journals: Energies and Buildinngs (MPDI, Switzerland). Frontiers (Switherland), SJEE (USA) He received the highest awards in building physics in the US and Canada. His research background includes heat, air and moisture, material science and durability of construction materials. He wrote more than 220 peer reviewed papers and 7 books, has 87,000 reads, and 1,380 citations on the Research Gate.

Dr. Kwok W. Cheung received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He joined GE (formerly ESCA) as a power system engineer developing online dynamic security assessment and energy management solutions in 1991. From 1995 to 2008, he held various technical lead and management positions responsible for the design and implementation of many leading energy and transmission markets worldwide including Transpower (New Zealand), Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), ISO New England, PJM, ERCOT, and Midcontinent ISO. In 2008, he became the R&D Director of Market Management Systems managing a worldwide engineering group to research, develop, and maintain market management products and related smart grid solutions. From 2015 to 2024, he has been the Director and CTO of Global Market Management Solutions (MMS) of GE Grid Software Solutions responsible for managing the overall worldwide businesses and product solutions for MMS. He is currently the CEO of KC-Exousia Consulting providing independent consulting services to utilities and governments around the world in grid modernization, control, and electricity market design and implementation. Dr. Cheung has authored and co-authored over 120 technical papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Cheung is a registered Professional Engineer of the State of Washington, a Senior Fellow of GE, a Fellow of the IEEE, and a Member of National Academy of Engineering.

Maksim Sonin is an energy thought leader who drives strategic global investments, and executes large-scale capital developments worth over $15bn per project, from inception to operation across major sectors, with teams spanning 5 continents. Maksim has held executive roles and served on the Boards of UCC ($10bn+ capital projects portfolio), Silleno ($7bn+ world-scale petrochemical complex, 1250kta), KMG Petrochem ($2bn+ gas treatment plant, 9 bcma), and other organizations, focusing on humanitarian and global energy concerns. This includes leading the development of the world’s largest plants for producing ammonia and urea, with the highest capacity per train. His expertise covers all phases from inception to operation, and major sectors, ensuring the satisfaction of governments and multinational conglomerates. He has worked with Chevron, Shell, and ExxonMobil at consortium venture, and collaborated with other global players. Holding an MS in Management from Stanford University as a Sloan Fellow, a PhD in Engineering, and an MS in Finance from different institutions, Maksim's academic achievements are further complemented by distinguished certifications in his field. He is a Projects Fellow and a member of the Stanford Hydrogen Initiative.

I serve as the Managing Director at Regen Power Pty Ltd, a leading company in renewable energy solutions in Australia. With 14 years of professional experience in the renewable energy and environmental sectors, I have developed expertise in areas like Energy, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, and Energy Storage. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration at Curtin University, focusing on "Transition towards Solar Energy Storage: A Multilevel Perspective." Academically, I have contributed to prestigious journals and have been an active participant in various international conferences. Notably, I received the Best Speaker award at the World Renewable Energy Conferences 2023.

Andrea Santopaolo holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Sapienza University, earned in 2013. Since September 2021, he has been serving as an Account Manager at Hitachi Energy, where he is responsible for developing the Renewable energy market in Italy. He is currently based in Rome and is actively involved in creating new business opportunities in emerging sectors, such as Offshore Wind. Andrea has accumulated extensive experience through his previous roles at ABB, Terna, and Iberdrola.

Margaret Chilinda, Environmental Researcher I have a Bachelor’s of science degree in Natural Resource Management. At the moment, I am working as a researcher at Re-Earth Initiative, a mentee of Women in Green Hydrogen and also a youth representative with Oxford Net Zero formulating standards for net zero transitions in corporate world in an equity and just way. I co-founded Tilipo Youth for Mental and Menstrual Health, was an IRENA youth delegate in 2024 and involved in GYBN, SDG7 youth constituency as well as YOUNGO. My research areas are environmental assessments, biodiversity conservation and renewable energy. Combined with technical skills in geospatial tools like ArcGIS and QGIS plus drone technology, I want to be able to develop innovative solutions that build resilience in communities.
